NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, 8-session educational program for family members, significant others, and friends of people with mental health conditions. It is a designated evidence-based program that significantly improves the coping and problem-solving abilities of the people closest to a person with a mental health condition.
The program is taught by NAMI-trained family members who draw on their lived experience to teach the class. A significant benefit of this program is that it addresses the isolation and stigma that family members experience regarding a loved one’s mental illness. Participants connect with others who have been there in a safe and confidential space and can talk openly about their experiences. They also learn:
How to solve problems and communicate effectively with their loved one
Self-care and stress management strategies
How to support their loved one with compassion
How to access local supports and services
About various mental health conditions and how they affect the brain
How mental illness impacts the entire family
Registration is required. See our class schedule and sign up for registration notifications below.
