In collaboration with the Portland VA, this year’s Evening with the Experts focuses on Veteran suicide prevention, which is the VA’s top clinical priority. Throughout the month of May, experts from the Portland VA’s Suicide Prevention Team will provide an overview of the VA, share about the VA's national strategy for suicide prevention, teach the VA’s method for identifying and helping Veterans in crisis, and present on strategies for using safety plans for lethal means safety.

All presentations can be used towards Continuing Education requirements for OHA-certified Peer Support Specialists. You do not need to be a Peer Support Specialist nor a Veteran to attend; these events are open to everyone. All events will be held remotely via Teams.
